    Consultant and Researcher in Public Health (Epidemiology) / Gender equity and Human Rights Advocate and Expert

    Samira Ouedraogo is Co-chair of the O.R. Tambo Africa Research Chair in “Research and Action Against Cancer” at the University Joseph Ki-Zerbo in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). As a researcher, consultant, and advocate in population and global Health, Dr Ouedraogo specific research interests include health system improvement, infectious diseases, cancers, sexual and reproductive health, and rights. She has built capacities in the design, implementation and the evaluation of public health programs and interventions. Throughout her academic and work experiences, she has provided leadership and technical assistance on diverse projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, France, the United-Kingdom and Canada. Her work has always been oriented toward health equity and social justice.

    Dr Ouedraogo is Co-founder and Chair of the Women in Global Health (WGH) Francophone West Africa (FWA) Chapter. WGH is an organization working to challenge power and privilege for gender equity in health. She is also co-founder and scientific director of the African Group Organized for Research and Actions in Health (AGORAH) and the Association African Crossroad Development (ACD).

    Dr Ouedraogo is member of Plos Global Public Health editorial Board and the International Conference on HIV Treatment, Pathogenesis, and Prevention Research in Resource-limited Settings (INTEREST) International Coordination Commitee
